David Ostry was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He studied film at Concordia University in Montreal. After living and working in South East Asia for two years he settled in Toronto where he has been working as an editor and filmmaker for over 15 years. His editing credits include the award-winning films LIFE WITH BILLY, NAN'S TAXI and NEW WATERFORD GIRL. His short films have screened at festivals around the world. His film EYES premiered at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and was screened at the National Gallery of Art in Washington. David recently wrote and directed the award-winning MILO 55160 while at the Canadian Film Centre and is currently developing a documentary for the NFB about the family dinner table entitled DINNER STORIES. He lives in Toronto.
